More Info about the Demo Day Grand Finale in April 2020

Each fall, students bring cybersecurity research ideas to the Georgia Tech Cybersecurity Summit. Students then attend evidence-based entrepreneurial coaching and return six months later to the IISP Cybersecurity Demo Day Finale for a TED-style talk about their project. A panel of business leaders and investors from across the United States critique students and award prizes valued at $100,000.

Typically research demonstrating the greatest impact towards an unmet need is the most captivating to the judges. The Demo Day Coaching Program is designed to help students discover the potential impact of their research and how to convey that to the audience.

"The Institute for Information Security & Privacy wants to move good ideas to market," says Wenke Lee, co-director. "We know industry leans on academic researchers to raise new ideas and we lean on industry to take solutions to the public. Our hope is that by introducing students to business mentors early in the research timeline that we can help them naturally build productive relationships and reduce time to market. All students participating in Demo Day will benefit from the insight and critique of those closest to industry needs today."

*For those who cannot participate in the Demo Day Coaching Program we encourage you to learn about how to participate in the Demo Day Research Track. Please email gloria.griessman@gatech.edu for more information.
